Get up to 6X the gaming performance of previous-generation graphics cards and the power of real-time ray tracing.
Nvidia’s new “Super” RTX 20 Series graphic cards sit nicely in-between their base and “Ti” offerings in both price and performance.
The Super cards are said to offer a 15% gain in performance over their respective base models with different configurations contributing to the improvements.
The RTX 2060 Super for example will include 8GB of memory over the base 2060’s 6GB, whilst the 2080 Super will have the same amount of memory as the regular 2080 but it will be faster, running at 15.5Gbps instead of 14Gbps.
Price wise the Super series fill a very large gap between affordable and close to crazy prices afforded the high-end 2080 Ti models. The new range will retail for US$299 (~A$430), US$499 (~A$720) and US$699 (~A$999) respectively, a far cry from the 2080Ti’s A$1,899 RRP.
The 2060 Super & 2070 Super will become available July 9th, with the 2080 Super soon to follow on the 23rd in North America. Australian dates should be the same, with pricing to be confirmed.
As someone running a now ageing 1060 the 2080 Super could slot in quite nicely and I’m very keen to check one out.
