Moves App Backtracks On Its Promise Not To Merge Data With Facebook

Here’s the press announcement from popular location-tracking app Moves on April 24th 2014, writing about being acquired by Facebook:

What does this mean for you as users of Moves? Moves will continue to operate as a standalone app, and there are no plans to change that or commingle data with Facebook.

Yesterday (May 5th 2014), I got an email from Moves, stating they’ve changed their Terms & Privacy Policy. Here’s a part of their new Privacy Policy entitled ‘Sharing data with third parties’:

We may share information, including personally identifying information, with our Affiliates (companies that are part of our corporate groups of companies, including but not limited to Facebook) to help provide, understand, and improve our Services.

Only took them 11 days to break their promise! Well, I’ve deleted my account.
