Google revokes Huawei’s Android license

Google has suspended business with Huawei that requires the transfer of hardware, software and technical services except those publicly available via open source licensing…

In another massive blow to the Chinese telecommunications manufacturer, Google has pulled Huawei’s Android license leaving it reliant on the Google independent, Android Open Source Project (AOSP).

Isolated, Huawei, will also have to develop their own update system and rely on security patches being delivered once a part of AOSP instead of direct from Google as previously enjoyed.

The company has also been added to the Trump administration’s trade blacklist making it nigh impossible for the company to do business within America.
