Apple Shares Requests For Data from Australian Agencies

Apple fielded more than 1100 requests from Australian law enforcement agencies to reveal data about users’ iPhones, iPads and Mac devices during the first six months of 2013, the consumer giant has revealed.

Joining a growing list of technology companies pushing to reveal the extent to which they comply with government requests for data and personal information, Apple released its first ever comprehensive transparency report overnight in a bid to distance itself from growing consumer concerns over online surveillance programs.
