Vodafone Network Survives A Weekend Of Free Data

Vodafone Australia customers consumed a record-breaking amount of data following the telco’s announcement that it would not count usage this weekend as a way of saying sorry for an outage that left subscribers unable to make or receive calls for several hours last week.

Between midnight Friday and 3am Monday, Vodafone said its customers consumed 590 terabytes of data nationally – twice as much compared to the weekend before. In layman’s terms, consuming 590 terabytes is the equivalent of downloading roughly 98 million songs or streaming 393,333 movies.

A great stress test of the network — and as a Vodafone user, I’m happy to say the network didn’t buckle once.
