Twitter appears to be quietly rolling out a long-awaited, extra sneaky feature on its mobile app. Now, users have been reporting a new option that lets you “mute” certain users. In other words, a totally undetectable unfollow.
Muting users appears as an option in the iOS Twitter app for me, not yet on Android.
To take on Tweetbot, you’ll need to be able to easily mute hashtags, too. Hopefully mutes will eventually sync across all versions of Twitter.
