A new study out of IBM Research in Almaden has email slobs the world wide celebrating the messy nature of their inbox as being more productive.
In the study researchers found that users that fastidiously file their emails away use up to 10% of their productive lives performing the task that could be utilised for other duties.
Yes, yes, I can hear you screaming “But, that’s how I found them quickly when I need them!” Errrrrrrr. Wrong! The study also proves that those that file their emails find ones they’re looking for no quicker than those that search their garbage pile of an inbox and archive.
Regardless of whether you’re a filer or searcher, I think we can all agree email is the worst.
