In May of 2017, British “driver” Bhavesh Patel climbed behind the wheel of his white Tesla S 60 and headed off down the crowded M1 highway at about 40mph. Itching to relax, Patel switched on the autopilot function and swapped to the passenger seat for maximum comfort.
What in the what, what?!?
I mean I’m all for being on the cutting edge but Patel, along with others (of which there are way too many) whom put their faith whole-heartidly in Tesla’s Autopilot are far too flippant with their life for my liking.
Patel has since been charged with dangerous driving and ordered to pay a £1,800 fine, perform 100 hours of unpaid work, 10 days of rehabilitation and banned from the M1 freeway for 1.5 years.
