Overnight, Samsung released details of the Gear 2. The watch is Tizen based, which should’ve been obvious from the unique UI. That begs the question; which devices will this watch talk to, all of Android, or just Samsung handsets?
Still, it’s a beautiful looking design – and there’s even a model that supports 3G via a new e-sim. The watch supports payment via NFC (Samsung Galaxy phones work with Westpac and Commbank right now, so in theory this watch could beat Apple Pay to Australia) and has a 2~3 day battery life.
Fascinating stuff, will report back after a hands on.
