RED’s ambitious Hydrogen phone project is ending after the release of just a single device…
Announced by RED founder Jim Jannard in a short, but sweet retirement announcement the company famous for its high-end film equipment will close the chapter that was its ill-fated mobile phone division.
Touted to have a “holographic display” and built with a connector to allow the phone to use a myriad of lenses and accessories that never came to fruition, the first and only phone released was rather poorly received.
Owners of existing Hydrogen One phones will be supported into the near future but are likely to have support tail off in coming years.
