This afternoon Optus joined the other two major Australian carriers in announcing pricing for their iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c plans.
Prices for the iPhone 5C 16GB start at $57 a month for the lowest $35 My Plan (which gives you 200 minutes of calls, infinite texts and a meagre 200MB). More likely you’d want to spend $69 a month on their $60 My Plan, which raises those limits to 600 minutes of calls, infinite texts and 1GB of data.
If you’re in the market for an iPhone 5s, prices start at $62 a month for a 16GB iPhone 5s on the $35 My Plan, but again you’ll probably want to move up to $72 a month on the $60 My Plan.
All Optus plans are a minimum 24 month commitment.
I’ve put together a sortable spreadsheet & some graphs that show you the total costs over 24 months for each model & plan. Notable is that Optus measures its phone calls in minutes, rather than a dollar value based on call rate (in my opinion, a good idea).
