NVIDIA announce new GeForce GTX 1080

NVIDIA today announced the NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1080 — the first gaming GPU based on the company’s new Pascal™ architecture — providing up to 2x more performance in virtual reality compared to the GeForce GTX TITAN X.

The GTX 1080 isn’t just an iteration it’s a leap forward. What’s even more scary (and sad for anyone who’s shelled out recently for a new GPU) is that the new lower-end 1070 is also faster than Nvidia’s former flagship Titan X too.

What’s also surprising is Nvidia’s dropped the pricing whilst increasing the performance. The 1080 will start from US$599, available May 27th.
