In a special Nintendo Direct celebrating the original Super Mario’s 35th birthday, Nintendo announced five exciting new products featuring the famous plumbing duo.
Super Mario 3D All-Stars
Arriving on September 18th, the 3D All-Stars pack includes optimised versions of Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario Galaxy for the Switch.
Oddly the game will only be available for a limited release, being pulled from physical and virtual shelves on March 31st 2021.
Order your copy now at Amazon for just A$69.
Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit
Probably the most interesting product to be announced since Nintendo’s short-lived Labo foray, Home Circuit combines physical remote controlled cars with the digital world of Mario Kart.
Providing you have the space the physical Mario or Luigi cars will race around your floor through a series of gates and be controlled via your Switch.
A camera in the cars relays the footage back to your Switch, which overlays the regular mechanics of Mario Kart in a true Augmented Reality experience.
Home Circuit is available October 16th for an RRP of A$149.95. Amazon has the pack available for pre-order at just A$133.85.
Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros
Scarily I’m old enough to remember the original Nintendo handhelds with Donkey Kong! The new Game & Watch announced harkens back to yesteryear with a brand new colourised version that includes Super Mario Bros 1 & 2. (AKA Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels)
The Game & Watch arrives November 13th for an RRP of A$79.95.
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury
An “enhanced” version of the Wii U classic we were given a tease of its re-release on Switch, slated for February 2021. More details on the extra features planned in the release are to come.
Super Mario Bros. 35
Mario Bros Battle-Royale… eye-roll
35 players can compete in a last man standing competition playing through levels from the original Super Mario Bros game.
Not available until March 2021, those of you with a Switch Online membership will receive the game 5 months earlier on October 1st.
