Over the past few years Microsoft has been quietly snapping a bevy of high-profile game developer houses and publishers, but none of them come remotely close to today’s announcement.
The acquisition of ZeniMax Media and the incorporation of the Bethesda Softworks family at Microsoft is a massive win for the company as it prepares to embark on its next-gen console journey.
The move brings a litany of beloved Bethesda franchises to the company’s already powerful offering in Xbox Game Pass and includes:
- Doom
- The Elder Scrolls
- Fallout
- Quake
- Wolfenstein
- Fallout
- Dishonored
- Rage
- Prey
- The Evil Within
- Deathloop
- Ghost Wire
It also means future releases such as the long anticipated Starfield will release day 1 as a part of the Xbox Game Pass service.
