It’s official Amazon is coming to Australia

Straight from the horse’s mouth:

“Amazon Web Services launched an Australian region in 2012, we launched a Kindle store on amazon.com.au in 2013 and we now have almost 1000 employees in the country,” Amazon said.

“The next step is to bring a retail offering to Australia, and we are making those plans now.”

The article goes on to mention the active search for warehouse space that could potentially be in Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane. Although I’d find Brisbane the least likely choice with services like 1 hr delivery and Amazon Prime likely to have the biggest take-ups in Syd & Melb.
