HP Chromebook 11

HP Chromebook 11

A new 11-inch laptop from HP running ChromeOS for US$279.

It’s very reminiscent of the old plastic MacBooks, in a good way. In fact, I’d say this is the nicest-looking laptop HP has released in ages, though there’s no HP branding on this at all. In fact, no Google branding either. The only thing seems to the be word ‘Chrome’ screened onto the front and the Chrome colour highlights on the back. Seems like Google is telegraphing their ambition for Chrome to become a much bigger brand in future.

I also like the idea that this charges over micro-USB, so if you have an Android phone and this laptop, you only have to pack one charger. Though, as anyone who’s only packed one charger for two devices can attest, you then have to make the Sophie’s Choice of which device to charge overnight.
