North were due to ship their new slimmer, lighter version of their quasi-popular smart glasses this year. Those plans appear to be no more in an announcement from North co-founders regarding the Google buyout.
It’s a bit of a shame, I’ve actually wore a pair of the originals for a month or so and while they weren’t perfect they were definitely on the right track and a far better product than Google Glass ever was.
The company is said to be remaining in its Ontario, Canada offices but with their main product shelved their efforts appear to be headed into another direction.
