Gabe Makes a Garage Arcade

Mike Krahulik (aka Gabe) from Penny Arcade:

About a month ago I decided I wanted to turn my garage into a classic arcade.

He really went and did it. That magnificent son of a gun.

Incidentally, I’m heading to the first Australian Penny Arcade Expo later this month (July 19-21) in Melbourne. I’m also fortunate enough to be able to participate in a panel there; I’ll be joining Pete Wells, Benny Ling & Raj Deut. We’ll be discussing gaming on the Mac & iOS platforms.

It’s not my first PAX either, I went to one waaaay back in 2008. I spoke briefly to Mike at the time. I complimented him that their then-new Penny Arcade books had reached our shores.

Not missing a beat, he said, “Oh, did they have to translate it? You know, put some *crikeys* in there, draw in some dingoes, that sort of thing?”
