In a tweet addressed to Apple CEO Tim Cook on Friday, Trump bemoaned the new “swipe” to unlock interface of Face ID, saying the older Touch ID home button was “FAR better.”
I know this is a garbage news piece and I hate the fact it’s come about from a Trump-tweet of all things, but I kind of agree with him!
Face ID, which has been around for a couple of years now Donald, is not my unlocking mechanism of choice. It may be more accurate (Apple say it’s 1 in a million false positives compared to Touch IDs 1 in 50,000), but it’s more the feel of having an actual button to unlock that I miss.
Sure you have a bigger, nicer, uninterrupted display but I lament the home button’s absence.
And yes, I’m just as surprised as you that I agree with Trump on anything.
