Crowd Funded Venture Capitalism Comes to Australia

Australian Financial Review:

Australian early stage venture capital firm Artesian plans to launch Australia’s first online equity based crowdfunding platform in February as a government review looking at relaxing laws for startup investment.

Think Kickstarter, but you invest in the company and own a percentage of it. If the company sells to say, Google for a billion dollars and you own 5%, you get $50m. Well that’s the aim anyways, I guess.
