Get a first look at the 9.7-inch iPad Pro, new Apple Watch bands and iPhone SE — the most powerful 4-inch phone ever.
Today Apple released a new smaller 9.7″ iPad Pro available to order on March 24th. Aussies are hit hard with the Apple’s lucrative exchange rates the 32GB model that retails for US$599 marked up to a whopping A$899.
The new iPad Pro includes all of it’s big brothers features, A9x chip, pencil and smart cover connectivity as well a new “true tone” display.
Apple also introduced the new 4″ iPhone SE. Essentially an iPhone 6s squished into the shell of an iPhone 5 it brings all the power and functions except 3D Touch.
Continuing to be offered in a useless 16GB version the hit to your wallet isn’t as bad at A$679. The more useful 64GB will set you back A$829. The iPhone SE is available to order March 24th.
In addition to the major hardware announcements Apple also released OS updates to iOS, tvOS and watchOS.
- iOS 9.3 introduces a new “easy-on-the-eyes” Night Shift mode that adjusts colour temperature based on the time of day as well as new private notes and 3D Touch features for the iPhone 6s
- tvOS 9.2 introduces folders and adds extra Siri functionality.
- watchOS 2.2 allows more than one watch to be paired to a single iPhone. Good for the ultra-rich whom bought different ones for different occasions I presume?
Also of interest Apple released two new woven nylon Apple Watch bands along with a price cut to the entry model watch. The Apple Watch Sport now starts from US$299.
Finally Apple showed off their new clone robotic army named “Liam”. The robot can pull apart an iPhone (and other devices) into its bare components to better manage the recycling process.
