Data analytics firm Cambridge Analytica harvested private information from more than 50 million Facebook users in developing techniques to support President Donald Trump’s 2016 election campaign.
The data was collected under the guise of being for academic use by the subcontracted company Global Science Research (GSR). Facebook has since revoked Cambridge Analytica access to the platform but is coy to admit any wrong-doing or it’s once again heinous contribution to the 2016 US election.
