A few weeks ago, our team was nominated for an award in the category of ‘Best Independent Media’ at the Optus IT Journalism Awards (The Lizzies for short). Last Friday night, we were surprised and honoured to win the category.
So, I just wanted to take a very self-indulgent moment, and highlight a few people that made this possible.
Thanks to Peter and Anthony for all their hard work on the site and podcast for the last year. Ant in particular: your willingness to jump into any subject, your stellar research, and entertaining writing shone through. Reader, you should go check out the features that were judged, because they were all absolute crackers.
A huge thank you to all of our contributors here at Reckoner.
I’m constantly floored by the quality of writing: always reading new features and saying, “damn you, I wish I thought of that.” It’s inspiring every day.
Thanks to other sites that were nominated in the category: Ausdroid and Player Attack (both receiving Highly Commended awards in the category), Live Tech Australia, NitroWare.net, NotAnalog, Press Start, TechGeek and Women Love Tech. All doing fantastic work in Australian indie tech journalism.
By far the biggest thank you has to go to you: our readers and listeners.
We couldn’t do this without you.
