From the Backblaze blog:
on Oct 1, 2013, Nirvanix filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. The company gave customers – some of whom had a petabyte of the only copy of their data stored with them – two weeks’ notice to retrieve their data.
I’ve never used Nirvanix, or even heard of it until now, but the Backblaze blog (yeah, I know they have a vested interest), explores a real-world scenario of what happens when the data in your cloud suddenly disappears with very little notice.
