Popular text editor Notepad++ has been banned in China

The popular free-to-use text editor has been blocked via the Great Firewall of China, in what appears to be retaliation for anti-China state commentary.

In a report by TechCrunch, the website for the software appears to remain visible however attempts to download the software are blocked.

Notepad++ developer Don Ho recently included expanded release notes for versions of the software which raised concerns over the current situation in Hong Kong and the autonomous Xinjiang region.
