Introducing Spectacles 3. 2 cameras. 3 dimensions. From the creators of Snapchat.

Remember those hugely (un)successful sunglasses Snapchat made and then made a second version that no one thought they would? Well, they’ve made a 3rd version now and are touting they’re capable of capturing moments in 3D.

The reality is the new Spectacles incorporate 2 cameras (one on each arm), that allow record video that offers a 3D styled view when viewed through the supplied Google Cardboard clone. For photos the dual angle allows for the creation of tilt-shifting perspective shots that look like Boomerang Insta GIFs cropped in a circle.

Limited to work with the iOS version of Snapchat only (for the time being?), new “3D” effects can be applied to the video captured through the Spectacles.

Available for £330(A$600) the new models are certainly taking the modern approach in style and will be shipping later in the year.
