Instead of retaining the current resolution, sources familiar with the testing\u00a0of at least one\u00a0next-generation iPhone model say that Apple plans to scale the next iPhone display with a pixel-tripling (3X) mode<\/em>.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
If this pans out, there will still be the same 16:9 display ratio, but the base resolution of the iPhone (568 * 320) would be tripled to 1704 * 960. That would put it above Apple’s threshold for a Retina quality display<\/a> at both the new rumoured 4.7-inch (and even 5.5-inch) display sizes.<\/p>\n
