A few weeks ago, our team was\u00a0nominated for an award<\/a>\u00a0in the category of ‘Best Independent Media’ at the Optus IT Journalism Awards<\/a> (The Lizzies for short).\u00a0Last Friday night, we were surprised and honoured to win the category.<\/p>\n

So, I just wanted to take a very self-indulgent moment,\u00a0and highlight\u00a0a few people that made this possible.<\/p>\n

Thanks to Peter<\/a> and Anthony<\/a> for all their hard work on the site and podcast for the last year.\u00a0Ant in particular: your willingness to jump into any subject, your stellar research, and entertaining writing shone through. Reader, you should go check out\u00a0the\u00a0features that were judged, because\u00a0they were all absolute crackers.<\/p>\n

A\u00a0huge\u00a0thank\u00a0you\u00a0to all of our contributors here at Reckoner.<\/p>\n

I’m constantly floored\u00a0by the quality of\u00a0writing: always\u00a0reading new features and\u00a0saying, “damn you, I wish I thought of that<\/em>.” It’s inspiring every day.<\/p>\n
