{"id":11948,"date":"2021-10-19T18:29:57","date_gmt":"2021-10-19T07:29:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/reckoner.com.au\/?p=11948"},"modified":"2021-10-19T18:29:57","modified_gmt":"2021-10-19T07:29:57","slug":"aussie-insurer-honey-is-offering-smart-home-adopters-a-discounted-premium","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/reckoner.com.au\/news\/aussie-insurer-honey-is-offering-smart-home-adopters-a-discounted-premium\/","title":{"rendered":"Aussie insurer &#8220;Honey&#8221; is offering smart home adopters a discounted premium"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As a long time smart home evangelist it&#8217;s incredible to <em>finally<\/em> see a home insurer that recognises the value sensors can add!<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Online Aussie insurer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.honeyinsurance.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>honey<\/em><\/a>\u00a0 have announced a new Smarter Home initiative aimed at rewarding smart home users with a discount up to 8% on their monthly home &amp; contents premium.<\/p>\n<p>To qualify for the discount you&#8217;ll be given a <a href=\"https:\/\/getnotion.com\/products\/notion-starter-kit?variant=39310831321173\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Notion Starter Kit<\/a> valued at A$250 to install as you see fit. The Notion&#8217;s kit is a great start for anyones smart home journey.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately for those with existing smart home setups, you&#8217;ll be required to add Notion&#8217;s hub &amp; devices, honey requiring that their supplied equipment be installed.<\/p>\n<p>Reassuringly, <em>honey<\/em> have confirmed no sensor data or information will be used in claims processing.
