{"id":10374,"date":"2020-07-22T10:31:45","date_gmt":"2020-07-22T00:31:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/reckoner.com.au\/?p=10374"},"modified":"2020-07-22T10:31:45","modified_gmt":"2020-07-22T00:31:45","slug":"nichboy-co-to-revive-good-game-pocket-in-new-twitch-show","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/reckoner.com.au\/news\/nichboy-co-to-revive-good-game-pocket-in-new-twitch-show\/","title":{"rendered":"Nichboy &#038; co to revive &#8216;Good Game Pocket&#8217; in new Twitch show"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s been nearly four years since the powers that be at the ABC decided to pull the pin on one of its most popular and successful forays into online production, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCvVu_zeLlknVqvcuCzOjs0w\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Good Game Pocket<\/a>.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The daily show, hosted by Nich &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/nichboy?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Nichboy<\/a>&#8221; Richardson and produced by Peter &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/pierreth\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Pierreth<\/a>&#8221; Burns, began as a spin off of its popular weekly TV big brother &#8220;Good Game&#8221; created by the ABC, before quickly becoming\u00a0a cult favourite amongst gaming audiences both in Australia and abroad.<\/p>\n<p>It appears now though, &#8220;Pocket&#8221; or at least an incarnation of the beloved show may be making a return. A series of mystery tweets with a cartoon pocket-like character from both Richardson &amp; Burns as well as former Good Game alum Gus &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/goosemangus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Goose<\/a>&#8221; Ronald emerged last week.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"und\" dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ZQPl7tvPXS\">pic.twitter.com\/ZQPl7tvPXS<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Gus &#39;Goose&#39; Ronald (@goosemangus) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/goosemangus\/status\/1283963223020978176?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 17, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The trio formed production studio <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lowkii.tv\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Low Kii<\/a> in 2019 and have been producing content for Twitch, Riot Games, PlayStation and others ever since.<\/p>\n<p>In follow up tweets from the trio as well as Australian gaming identity (and former Good Game &amp; screenPLAY host) <a href=\"https:\/\/reckoner.com.au\/idqk\/\">Stephanie &#8220;Hex&#8221; Bendixsen<\/a>, it&#8217;s been revealed there is indeed a <em>something<\/em> debuting from the team once more.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;<em>I crave attention and validation. Interpret that however you want.<\/em>&#8220;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Called &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitch.tv\/back_pocket\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong><em>Back Pocket<\/em><\/strong><\/a>&#8221; we know very little about the show with a reveal scheduled for this upcoming July 23rd at 9pm (AEST) on Twitch.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Wait&#8230; what&#39;s this? Stop asking questions.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>We can surmise it&#8217;s likely to be some style of &#8220;show&#8221; and not a straight gaming stream as the Twitch schedule categorises it as a &#8220;Just Chatting&#8221; stream.<\/p>\n<p>When asked for comment Richardson would only say, &#8220;<em>I crave attention and validation.
