The AFL to hold a state based League of Legends competition in Melbourne this November

The AFL has partnered with esports giants Riot Games to host a major gaming tournament in Melbourne this November.

To be called “League of Origin” the competition pits teams of competitors from across Australia representing their home states.

Whilst announced today, there is no final date or venue set beyond November & Melbourne. With that said the AFL has long talked about either building a custom esports venue or using Ethiad stadium, which it owns.
