PS Vita TV

Sam Byford for The Verge:

Sony has just announced PlayStation Vita TV, a 6 x 10 cm console and set-top box that connects to a TV. It’s based on PS Vita hardware, and besides playing Vita, PSP, and PS1 games, also offers access to a range of entertainment services and PlayStation 4 cross-functionality.

There are two compelling things about this for me. Firstly, the ability to shoot a PS4 off to another TV is really cool, and solves a very common problem. Secondly, the price at US$95.

In fact, this is probably the first compelling hardware feature that truly separates the PS4 and Xbox One for me. Aside from some cool demos, I just haven’t been shown a reason to care about the Kinect at all.
