Adobe’s Giant-Sized Cryptographic Blunder

Remember when Adobe was hacked and all their customer data was at risk? Yeah, well, it’s worse than we thought.

From Sophos’ Blog:

As far as anyone knew, including Adobe, it affected about 3,000,000 customer records, which made it sound pretty bad right from the start.

But worse was to come, as recent updates to the story bumped the number of affected customers to a whopping 38,000,000.

Adobe did a really crap job securing account passwords. One of the most basic tenets of computer security. Shame Adobe, shame.
