NBN Co to reassign even more FTTN homes onto FTTC

NBN Co is set to announce a second expansion of its fibre-to-the-curb (FTTC) rollout within weeks, marking its rapid propulsion as a replacement for fibre-to-the-node (FTTN) in the network.

“We’re going to be making some announcements about FTTC soon … [in which] we’re going to move a number of FTTN homes onto FTTC,” Morrow said.

Translation: We know just how fucking stupid it is to continue a rolling out FTTN with it’s encumbered technology, power requirements and ridiculous implementation costs so we’re now finally going to provide those poor souls that aren’t already connected to it some shred of hope.

Sucks to be already on FTTN. Poor folk are stuck with it.
