ACCC denies big banks’ request to band together against Apple

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has decided not to grant Commonwealth Bank, Westpac and NAB interim approval to collectively bargain with Apple over its mobile payment service, Apple Pay.

We spoke about this at length a couple of podcasts ago when they first submitted the request. To summarise: Banks are greedy, Apple is greedy.

This time Apple won.
