Dallas Buyers Club leave empty handed

The owners of the film Dallas Buyers Club have chosen not to take further action in their legal fight with iiNet over its users’ alleged copyright infringement, bringing an official end to the year-and-a-half long saga.

Ripe for a Home & Away filled Channel 7 mini-series the iiNet/DBC LLC case is finally over. Choosing not to appeal the latest of judgements DBC are left licking their wounds.

Whilst the “proof” put forward by DBC was dubious at the best of times the case did instigate a mass shift in the way a lot of Australians approached downloading copyrighted content.

Along with the rise of legitimate local streaming service such as Stan, Presto & Netflix for many piracy is a thing of the past, or if anything, a last resort.
