Another budget blowout for Turnbull’s NBN

Optus’s cable TV and broadband network, bought by the National Broadband Network for $800 million this year, is in such poor condition the NBN is considering replacing it entirely.

Wow, what a surprise. Optus sold off an ageing HFC network and it wasn’t in perfect condition. In fact it’s potentially so far beyond disrepair that NBN will have to spend $375m more to build over the top of it. Singtel’s laughing all the way to the bank on this one.
